SEA

SEA is a long-form series released on fx(hash), where lines gather into moving water under a band of sky. It is my first release, and the 85th project published on the platform.

It is also my first long-form project. Until then I had been publishing finished videos and images on Hic Et Nunc. fx(hash) changed that completely, and for me it was a genuine revolution: what goes on the blockchain is the code itself rather than the image or the video it produces. That is what made writing the work as code finally take on its full meaning.

Each edition is a loop that never settles. A set of waves, a distribution and a noise field that disturbs them build the water; above it, a band of sky whose height changes from one edition to the next. The sea can be calm, noisy or stormy, and the waves can be drawn as curves, as straight lines or as stacked rectangles.
